Spring

My pottery barn inspired wreath. I found a thrift store $3 wreath and took it apart for the base. Next I painted a $0.75 pack of plastic eggs pastel colors. Then I added some nesting material, and the twigs I found from clippings in our yard

Thrift store bunny's $1 each. Hobby Lobby fake grass.
I painted a $2 thrift store picture, found willow sticks from our back yard.

Phone Book butterfly wreath. I found this wire and yarn wreath at the thrift store for a dollar. And decided to try to make the paper butterfly wreath that I had saw one day on decor steals. I fold the news paper pages in half to cut out a butter fly body. I made three different sizes and hot glue them on.

More dollar thrift store bunnies. I think this year I will paint them white.

Button tins from old cookie tins. We were given cookies for Christmas in these cute metal tins. I decided to turn them into a storage container.  I painted them white. Then with a nail and hammer I poked button holes. Lastly, I used string to string to thread the button.
These beautiful old windows come from my parents home which was originally built by my great grandparents. When they were remodeling part of the house I was able to have this set. I love them! These cute paper wreaths are made from newspapers. My love sign is made from cloth, black sharpy, glue, string and red cloth for the hearts.
Thrift store find....A little bit of pink paint.....new hair bow stand.

My summer wreath. $3 thrift store wreath, Hemp string, sea shells, and hot glue gun. I think of all my wreaths this one took the longest. Wrapping the string around a very chunky twig wreath.....took time.
My summer mantel. Thrift store finds;Wreath $3, Ore $5, cheese container $3/ candle stick $1, trees $6 set. I bought the sea shells from Hobby Lobby. The rocks are from my yard. The mason jars, string, and star I had on hand.

Double photo frame.....I fell in love with some of Hobby Lobby's chunky picture frames. I decided to try making one. From I purchased two thrift store frames for $2.50. The back frame is a square 5x7 and the front a 5x7 oval. I used wood glue and clamped them together to dry. Then I painted the picture frame Green. After it dried I lightly brushed a Light Blue coat. Next I lightly sanded the edges. For the final finish I used mahogany wood stain with an old rag to antique the frame. I slowly added the stain and wiped it off quickly in the areas until I got the desired finish I wanted.

Bush trimmings into a wreath

I really love these green wreaths.....I have wanted one for a while. But I am cheap on buying wreaths since I have made so many now. My husband was trimming our bushes this fall and I saw all of these beautiful leaves as I was cleaning up the yard and decided to try some projects. I made a wreath and some decorative balls. I also didn't want to buy any forms. So I used what I had on hand.

for my ball shape I used plastic grocery store bags and formed them into a ball. I used a little tape to keep it's shape. Next I wrapped green tissue paper around the ball just in case any leaves didn't cover all of the ball. Using a hot glue gun I glue on my clippings into a cute and little hairy ball.

I used a left over case lot box for my wreath form. Next, a plate and marker to draw the shape. Then I hot glued some of the packaging for the filling, tissue paper, and greenery.

White washing

Before and after.....a little white paint, and sand paper.
